ステートメント
I am constantly longing for the past. We live within an accumulation of fleeting moments that will never return. Holding onto the impossible wish for things to remain as they are, I confront a changing world with a digital camera in hand.
I am deeply drawn to the inherent "violence" of photography as a medium. A mere fraction of a second lingers exactly as it was, even decades later. It is the taxidermy of time, evoking an inescapable sense of solitude, journey, and the mortality that awaits at the end of a long expanse of time.
Within that brutally frozen world, I capture "clouds" and "people."
常に過去が恋しい。二度と戻らない一瞬の積み重ねの中に私たちは生きている。「そのままでいてほしい」という叶わぬ願いを抱えながら、私はデジタルカメラを手に、変わりゆく世界と対峙している。
私が強く惹かれるのは、写真というメディアが孕む「暴力性」だ。わずか数百分の1秒という刹那が、何十年も後までそのままの形で残り続ける。それは時間を剥製にすることであり、見る者に抗いようのない「孤独」や「旅」、長き時間の果てにある「死」を連想させる。
その残酷なほど静止した世界に、私は「雲」と「人」を写し出す。
